Scampia, arrested fugitive escaped twice to capture
He had escaped capture twice, the men of the Scampia commissariat arrested him in Castel Volturno (Caserta). Michele Ruffo, 42, a Neapolitan, convicted of crimes against property and individuals, was on the run after being sentenced to three years and six months in prison. On 28 February the agents had arrived in via Emilio Scaglione, at Ruffo’s home, to execute a decree to suspend home detention with the restoration of prison. Suddenly Ruffo had punched an agent with his fist, throwing himself from a window in the bedroom of the house, on the first floor of the building, managing to escape the capture. Another escape on April 5, when Ruffo, intercepted by an agent free from duty in Cardito, managed to disappear after hitting the policeman causing him slight injuries. Today the arrest in Castel Volturno, Pineta Mare, where the man was hiding in a house in via delle Camelie. Ruffo, an expert in car theft, hid various electronic control units in the house for the removal of cars equipped with coded alarm systems and tools aimed at burglary.
